Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Deputy CFO to join our dynamic team. equities markets. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to play a key role in the day-to-day accounting operations of our firm, all under the guidance of the CFO.
Responsibilities:
Oversee payroll processing and administration, including managing ADP Workforce Now for time and attendance, setting up new employees, conducting payroll audits, and handling payroll tax reporting and reconciliations.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of all accounting reports and financials, including FOCUS filings.
Manage monthly reconciliations and bookkeeping, prepare and submit wire requests as needed, and oversee travel and entertainment expense accounting.
Actively ensure the firm maintains regulatory compliance with net capital requirements.
Develop and maintain robust accounting policies, processes, and systems to establish optimal controls for the company.
Supervise the monthly close of the company's books, the general ledger, and the reporting of financial results.
Prepare weekly and monthly management financial health reports, including analysis of revenue and expenses with actionable recommendations.
Create projections, rolling revenue calculations, and Pro-Forma statements.
Manage treasury functions for the firm and its affiliates.
Coordinate audits and continuously improve accounting policies, ensuring efficient and effective processes that support key business areas and internal controls.
Collaborate with upper management to identify and resolve broker-dealer-related financial issues, suggesting procedural changes as necessary.
Handle accounts payable/receivable accounting and expense allocations.
Assist in managing new and existing banking relationships and administration.
Gather data for all tax filings and provide support for annual audits.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred.
Willingness to obtain a Series 27 license.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in an accounting role at a broker-dealer, clearing firm, or within the financial services industry.
Proficiency in QuickBooks or equivalent accounting platforms, along with advanced Excel skills.
Prior payroll experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of financial reporting systems, procedures, and controls.
Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
A proven ability to work effectively with business partners.
