Deputy CFO (Financial Services)
Are you an experienced financial professional with a passion for accounting and regulatory compliance? We are seeking a highly motivated Deputy CFO to join our dynamic team in the financial services industry. This role will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes, reporting, and regulatory compliance. You'll be working closely with the CFO and senior management in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll processing and administration, including new employee setup, payroll audits, tax reporting, and reconciliation using ADP Workforce Now Time & Attendance.
Accounting & Reporting: Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all accounting reports, including monthly reconciliations, FOCUS filings, and the preparation of financial statements.
Financial Compliance: Actively ensure compliance with regulatory net capital requirements and help maintain accounting policies, processes, and systems to strengthen internal controls.
Month-End Close: Oversee the month-end closing process, including maintaining the general ledger, and preparing financial reports.
Financial Analysis: Prepare weekly and monthly management financial health reports, including revenue, expenses, and insightful recommendations for improvements.
Financial Forecasting: Create financial projections, rolling revenue calculations, and Pro-Forma statements to guide business strategy.
Treasury Management: Manage treasury functions, including handling firm and affiliate accounts, as well as coordinating wire requests.
Audit & Policy Development: Support coordination of audits, assist in developing efficient accounting processes, and continuously improve internal controls.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior management to identify and resolve financial issues, making recommendations for process improvements.
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Handle the day-to-day operations of accounts payable/receivable and expense allocations.
Banking Relationships: Assist with managing new and existing banking relationships.
Tax Filings & Audit Support: Support data gathering for tax filings and annual audits.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred.
Licensing: Series 27 license preferred or willingness to obtain.
Experience: At least 6 years of experience in accounting, ideally within the financial services or broker-dealer industry.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics GP, as well as advanced Excel skills.
Payroll Experience: Prior experience with payroll processes is a plus.
Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage financial reporting systems.
Communication Skills: Effective communicator able to collaborate across all levels of management in a team-oriented environment.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000, based on experience and qualifications.
